The Big Bang

The Big Bang

Yesterday I went out to brunch with my Sister, which I enjoyed very much. It has been quite a while since we hung out together. Because of our busy schedules with work and school, sometimes getting together is impossible. We agreed whenever we can to always try to make time to hang out with each other more.

So we had originally planned on going out to brunch at Green Eggs Cafe, but unfortunately it never happened. The reason was because the cafe was too crowded and the wait time for a table was so ridiculous. We stumbled upon The Continental Mid-town restaurant, which we both was curious to try out. Neither one of us had never been here before, but it was definitely on our bucket list.

If I could describe The Continental Mid-town, I would say it’s like a diner that meets future upscale restaurant. When I walked in, what came to mind was “retro”. The decor was absolutely beautiful, especially the adorable swinging chairs located upstairs. The atmosphere is like one of the best I have experienced in Philly almost similar to like a lounge setting. The restrooms have two way mirrors, which was nothing I have never seen before so it was pretty cool. The Continental Mid-town also offers the option to eat out on the rooftop deck, which I will consider doing the next time I visit.

The food was on point! I had ordered the buttermilk pancakes topped with strawberries and banana slices served with maple butter and syrup. In addition, I had turkey sausages on the side. My Sister had The Big Bang, which consisted of short stack pancakes, applewood bacon, turkey sausages, home fries, toast and scrambled eggs. When I tell you that I was completely full from eating these buttermilk pancakes, I was full! The pancakes were so huge that I couldn’t even finish it all. Overall, everything was so delicious.

The Continental Mid-town restaurant is definitely a great place for a ladies night out, birthday celebrations, hanging with friends and family, or date night. The vibe is very hip and trendy.
