What I Got From The Rent The Runway and 3.1 Phillip Lim Sample Sales in NYC This Weekend

260 Sample Sale Bags

This past weekend was great for sample sale shopping in NYC. I was able to hit up two sample sales, which were the Rent The Runway and 3.1 Phillip Lim. This was actually my first time physically shopping at a sample sale, which was a great experience. I’ve always shopped online at sample sales at brands like Staud or Frame and sometimes I get exclusive invites to private sample sales.

I attended both the sample sales with my best friend that lives in NYC. When we first arrived, we had to wait in line outside the building. It wasn’t too bad of a wait as they were only allowing a number of shoppers in due to safety reasons. Before heading in, everyone had to get temperature checks and rub on hand sanitizer. We finally got in and it was all good from there.

First up was the Rent The Runway Sample Sale. There were so many great sales on the floor from dresses to accessories. At the sale, I spotted two stylish bags. The first bag is a gorgeous leather beauty from All Saints. I must say this was the best $30 I’ve spent on a leather tote. When researching the bag online, I found out that it retails for about $378. This bag is gorgeous in person and I love the fact that I can wear it as an everyday bag.

The second bag I purchased is such a fun bag from Loeffier Randall. The bag is more of an envelope clutch with a silver metallic interior. I was attracted to the rainbow style and I was looking for something small that I can fit my basic essentials such as my cell phone and keys and this was perfect. This clutch retails for about $275 but only paid $30.

Next up was the 3.1 Phillip Lim sample sale over in SoHo. The wait time wasn’t too long as it was about 10 minutes. The same protocol applied with temperature checks and hand sanitizing before heading in. I found this light blush ribbed long sleeve top. Lately, I’ve been seeking more neutral colors for my wardrobe and this is the perfect piece to add. Based on research, it retails for $350 and scored this for $50.

So these are Just a few things I got from the Rent The Runway and 3.1 Phillip Lim sample sales over the weekend. If you’re wondering how I keep up with the tea on what sample sales are happening, definitely check out 260 Sample Sale.
