A shopaholic is someone who is addicted to shopping. Shopaholics are compulsive shoppers that suffer from irresistible desire to shop. As a guilty shopaholic, shopping is one of my favorite hobbies to do during my free time. It can be fun but also somewhat therapeutic at the same time. When I go shopping for anything, I love to be a smart shopper. Being a smart shopper means getting those deals and getting more for your money. I am good for buying a Winter coat during preseason sales. Did you know that at most stores, items go on sale according a schedule. They all basically follow a set in place calendar schedule for when items will go on sale. Check out the calendar months on when your favorite items go up for sale:
January
Boots, scarves, hats, cocktail dresses, housewares
February/March
Winter sweaters, also the outlet stores knock down their prices too
April
Spring gear, socks, tights
May
Bathing suits
June
Handbags, sunglasses
July/August
Summer gear: sandals, flip flops, tank tops, short-sleeved shirts, shorts, skirts, Winter coats
September
Anything in denim
October
Women’s suits, rain gear
November/December
Cashmere scarves, leather gloves, tableware
Did you also know that there are three key days for shopping, which are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Tuesdays
Many of the big department stores find any reason to throw a big sale. Most clothing and question is already tagged as early as Tuesday right after the executives leave their meeting where they decide what goes on sale according to a Macy’s Representative.
Thursdays
Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy have something called “Sale Day.”Sale Day is basically an item that has been in the store for approximately 8 and 12 weeks, the managers will tag it for the sale rack depending on how well it’s selling at the full price. Your favorite maxi dress is now half price!
Fridays
I Love going shopping on Fridays! some weekend sales start Friday evenings and at the end of long work week, it’s a great way to reward yourself. Usually, you will get first choice on the merchandise because stores are generally empty.
