Hello Winter! I’m embracing you with open arms. The official first day of winter was actually a few days ago on Monday and must say that I’m quite excited for the season. I’ve been racking up on so many great fashion pieces for winter during quarantine, especially chunky knit sweaters. H&M has really cute chunky knit sweaters by the way that are warm, stylish and affordable which you can check out here. This is where I’ve brought the majority of my sweaters from. I’ve also racked up on winter dresses, denim jeans and accessories that you will probably see on upcoming blog posts and social media.
When it comes to my style for winter, I love to add a pop of color to stand out. Usually when we think of a winter wardrobe, colors like black, grey, navy and neutrals come to mind. However for me that’s just too basic which is why I love to add a bit of color to the dark colors. Sometimes I wonder where did the idea of just because it’s winter, people should dress is dark colors come from? When it comes to fashion, I believe you should have fun with it and adding a pop color is definitely great way to take your outfit to the next level for winter.
I want to briefly talk a bit about my outfit and what I’m wearing. This cute snowflake sweater I got last year from LOFT. Every time I wear it, I get so many compliments. It’s super warm and it was the perfect choice to wear for the season, especially with the snow on the ground. The denim jeans are from The Real Real. I just recently started shopping at The Real Real over the summer and they have great authenticated luxury consignment pieces that are affordable. I highly recommend checking them out if you’re seeking unique luxury pieces.
The coat I got at Century 21 department store during their going out of business sale. It’s from the brand called Nanette Lepore, which is a fashion designer based out of NYC. This coat was super cheap, it was like $20 originally $240. I definitely scored a bargain on this one! It’s so chic and very warm. I most likely will wear this coat all winter long. The metallic pumps you probably have seen a lot of in recent photos, which are from Guess and I scored these for $30. Every time I wear these, I get those Carrie from Sex and the City vibes. I paired it with my favorite pink mirrored aviator sunglasses from Shopbop and these beautiful monochromatic drop earrings from Zenzii.
Also what I’m looking forward to for winter are the fashion weeks for the fall/winter 2021 collection. I honestly don’t believe that we will be attending any shows physically this season due to the ongoing of the pandemic, but it will still be great to see the collections virtually. If you’re interested in seeing what fashion weeks are coming up, click here to check the calendar. I love checking out the shows during fashion week because that is where I get my inspiration from and to recreate similar looks.
I’m off to finishing wrapping presents but I really hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas holiday and as always I would love to hear your comments and thoughts anytime. See you next time guys!
