Dear Kiki,

Hey Kiki! I was wondering if you knew any decent face scrubs that won’t irritate my face? I have been trying St. Ives Apricot Scrub for some time now and I have not seen much success with it as it broke me out even more and irritated my skin to the max. I’m so done with that scrub and looking to move on to a better scrub that won’t irritate my face. When I walk into a store, it’s very overwhelming when it comes to finding the right face scrub. Please help?

Hi Tiara, First let me say that I’m sorry that you had a bad experience with the St. Ives Apricot Scrub. I have tried it once or twice, but I have not got much success out of it either so I discontinued using it. What I learned and understand about some scrubs is they contain coarse granules that can damage the surface of the skin. After using the face scrub, people tend to love the results of how their face feels giving them that clean feeling. Unfortunately, it’s not the most good thing for our skin.

Yes I do agree that finding a good decent face scrub can be overwhelming because there are like so many on the market today to choose from. Luckily, I know some scrubs that work great and get the job done without harming your skin. I rounded up five face scrubs that won’t leave your face feeling irritated, but clean, soft and smooth.

Bioré Pore Unclogging Scrub $5.99

It contains salicylic acid that fights blackheads and leaves your skin feeling nice and clean.

Yes to Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Cleanser $9.99

This is great for oily or acne prone skin because it contains salicylic acid and it contains detoxifying charcoal in order to help draw out the impurities. It also has eco-friendly jojoba spheres which gives an extra gentle exfoliation. I am currently using this cleanser along with the Yes to Tomatoes Clear Skin Activated Charcoal Bar Soap, which works really well together.
